Complaints & Appeals
Learners with concerns about the Food Handler Certificate Training Program, Home of Training personnel, or other elements of the certificate program are encouraged to discuss these with the relevant individuals involved to try to resolve the matter informally. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, the learner may wish to file a formal complaint.
All formal complaints and appeals shall be submitted within thirty (30) days of the incident’s occurrence for review. The complaint shall be submitted in writing, online to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The complaint shall include sufficient objective evidence to substantiate the claims and allow for a decision to be made and the appropriate action to be taken. Dissatisfaction based on hearsay shall not be considered as a complaint. Anonymous complaints will not be considered.
Once a complaint is received, it will be reviewed, evaluated and responded to within five (5) business days of receipt. Final review and determination will be made by our president, Eric Mickelson.
Appeals: An appeal is a formal request for reconsideration of an adverse decision made by Home of Training in relation to a learner’s complaint. An appeal must be in writing and made within thirty (30) days of receiving the final determination of the adverse decision. The appeal must include the appellant’s contact information, copy of the final determination being appealed, reason for the appeal and all relevant supporting materials in support thereof. Decisions will be made within thirty (30) days of receipt. All decisions will be final.
