Home of Training, Inc. (HOT) complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The online training platform does not prohibit learners from having assistance in the study of courses and/or examinations. The learner must submit a request for Exam Accommodation to Home of Training at least 10 business days prior to taking the exam. If upon taking the exam Home of Training has not yet approved the request for accommodation, the learner can reschedule or choose to take the exam without the requested accommodation. The learner must select the type of accommodation they are requesting:

  • Reader
  • Extra Time

 

The learner may have another party read, translate, or operate the computer. The reader must sign a nondisclosure and confidentiality agreement and adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No personal relationship with the learner
  • They cannot be a certified food protection manager or have any personal stake in food protection
  • The learner may communicate the answer to the other party to click the chosen answer on the online exam
  • The reader cannot answer any questions while giving the exam or provide the learner with cues or assistance with the actual selection of the answers
  • Adhere and sign the non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement

 

The learner must submit the prior documentation guidelines to Home of Training

  • Home of Training Exam Accommodation Request (Request for Exam Accommodation Form)
  • Include a detailed description of current functional limitations written by a professional in that field evaluating the disability with the learner’s full name, date of birth, date of diagnosis or the date of evaluation.


Any needs outside of these policies and procedures are not anticipated. HOT will make any reasonable accommodations necessary to comply with the law.
